Engines in cars are liquid cooled and run much much cooler than motorcycle engines - Oil performs a critical lubrication AND COOLING function in an air cooled engine .
Put in automotive oil and you are experimenting potentially with disastrous results. The dms you save initially will more than be eaten up by the cost of the rebuild because the lubrication broke down and the engine oveheated.
I always use a premium motorcycle oil - figure it is the cheapest and best insurance policy I can give my engines.
In a word - don't use automotive oil in a motorcycle. Check your manual - get the proper SC code and make sure you get it in a motorcycle grade.
Keep the rubber side down
